Mumu Combines an OG Meme, Robinhood Chain and a Formal IP Strategy

Three narratives now sit in the same asset: pre-token culture, early-chain positioning and brand rights.

The standard memecoin playbook is familiar: launch a token, create a mascot, push social content and hope the market gives the brand enough time to become recognizable.

Mumu the Bull reverses that sequence.

For a speculative audience, the setup is easy to read: an OG character, a new chain with retail distribution, and a formal IP path. It is still a memecoin and carries memecoin risk, but the narrative is broader than a short-lived rotation trade.

The character has been part of internet trading culture since 2018, originating in 4chan’s /biz/ environment as the bullish counterpart to Bobo the Bear. The current project therefore did not need to invent the central symbol after the token launched.

The current project is building around a character that already existed in trading culture.

That history is now being combined with two newer pieces of infrastructure.

The first is Robinhood Chain. Robinhood revealed its Layer 2 plans in June 2025, opened the public testnet in February 2026 and announced mainnet in July 2026. For early projects, that creates a limited window in which the network’s first major cultural identities are still being formed.

The second is intellectual property.

MUMU is listed by IP Australia as Application 2682039, published and awaiting examination. The project also identifies MUMU THE BULL as Application 2682957. According to the project, the applications cover digital media and NFT-authenticated works, apparel and entertainment branding.

Those filings are applications rather than final registrations, but they show a plan that extends beyond token trading.

If developed successfully, the brand could support official merchandise, licensing, entertainment and broader collaborations. This gives Mumu more possible distribution channels than a project tied exclusively to onchain activity.

The stronger thesis is therefore not simply that an old meme now has a token.

It is that a recognizable internet character is being packaged for a new blockchain ecosystem at the same time its brand identity is being formalized.

Short-term attention is abundant in memecoins; durable recognition is not.

The more durable projects are the ones that can retain recognition after the first market rotation ends.

Mumu’s eight-year history gives the project a differentiated starting point.
